1. About BalkanBase.io

BalkanBase.io is an open startup registry for the Western Balkans. It is designed to make startups from Serbia, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Albania and Kosovo easier to discover by investors, partners, ecosystem organisations, media and other relevant stakeholders.

BalkanBase.io is an initiative of Impact Hub Belgrade and is operated by Impact Hub doo Beograd.

2. Informational purpose only

BalkanBase.io is an informational and editorial startup directory.

Information on the website is provided in good faith based on founder submissions, public sources, ecosystem partner input and internal verification.

BalkanBase.io does not provide investment advice, legal advice, financial advice or business advice. Nothing on the website should be interpreted as a recommendation to invest in, fund, acquire, partner with or otherwise support any listed startup.

3. No endorsement

The inclusion of a startup in the BalkanBase.io registry does not mean that BalkanBase.io or Impact Hub Belgrade endorses, guarantees, certifies or validates that startup, its team, products, services, financials, claims or investment potential.

Startup profiles are intended to support discoverability and ecosystem mapping, not to provide due diligence, rating, certification or investment validation.

4. Startup submissions

Users may submit startups for review through the website.

By submitting a startup, you confirm that:

• you are authorised to submit the information;
• the information you provide is accurate to the best of your knowledge;
• the submission does not violate the rights of any third party;
• BalkanBase.io may review, edit, classify, verify, publish or reject the submission;
• public fields may be displayed on BalkanBase.io if the startup is accepted for publication.

BalkanBase.io is not required to publish every submitted startup and may remove, hide, update or reject listings at its discretion.

5. Public and non-public information

Some information submitted to BalkanBase.io may be displayed publicly. Other information may be kept private, used internally or made available only to approved partners under a separate arrangement.

Public information may include:

• startup name;
• country;
• stage;
• primary vertical;
• tags;
• website;
• public description.

Non-public information may include:

• founder contact details;
• pitch deck links;
• fundraising status;
• traction details;
• internal notes;
• partner-only information.

BalkanBase.io does not intentionally publish private founder contact details, pitch decks, financial information, traction information or internal notes without an appropriate legal basis or consent.

6. Accuracy of information

We aim to keep the registry accurate and up to date, but we do not guarantee that all information is complete, current, verified or error-free.

Startup information may change over time. Users should verify information directly with the startup or relevant official sources before relying on it.

If you believe a profile contains inaccurate, outdated or unauthorised information, contact us at balkan.base@impacthub.net.

7. Corrections and removals

Founders, authorised representatives and relevant stakeholders may request correction or removal of a startup profile.

BalkanBase.io may request additional information to verify the identity or authority of the person making the request.

We reserve the right to decide how and when to update, correct, hide or remove information from the registry.

8. Partner inquiries and full profiles

Some additional information may be available to approved partners under a separate scouting, research or partnership arrangement.

Requests for more information about a startup do not guarantee access to confidential information, founder introductions, pitch materials, partner-only information or private data.

BalkanBase.io may decide whether to facilitate introductions or provide additional information on a case-by-case basis.

9. Acceptable use

You agree not to misuse BalkanBase.io.

You must not:

• scrape, copy or extract large amounts of website data without permission;
• use the website to spam startups, founders, partners or ecosystem stakeholders;
• submit false, misleading or unauthorised information;
• impersonate another person or organisation;
• attempt to interfere with the security or operation of the website;
• use BalkanBase.io for unlawful, harmful, abusive or misleading purposes.

10. Intellectual property

The BalkanBase.io name, website design, copy, classification structure and original content are owned by or licensed to Impact Hub Belgrade unless stated otherwise.

Company names, logos, trademarks and website links appearing in startup profiles belong to their respective owners and are used for identification and informational purposes only.

You may link to BalkanBase.io pages, but you may not copy, reproduce, scrape or commercially reuse substantial parts of the website without permission.

11. Third-party links

BalkanBase.io may contain links to third-party websites, including startup websites, LinkedIn profiles, partner pages and public sources.

We are not responsible for the content, accuracy, privacy practices, security or availability of third-party websites.

12. Limitation of liability

BalkanBase.io is provided “as is” and “as available”.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Impact Hub Belgrade and BalkanBase.io are not liable for any loss, damage, decision, missed opportunity or other consequence arising from:

• use of the website;
• reliance on information in the registry;
• inaccurate, incomplete or outdated startup information;
• third-party websites;
• business, investment, funding or partnership decisions made by users.

13. Changes to the website

We may update, change, suspend or discontinue parts of BalkanBase.io at any time.

We may also update, edit, hide or remove startup profiles, taxonomy values, filters, pages or website features.

We may update these Terms of Use from time to time. The updated version will be published on this page with a revised “Last updated” date.

Continued use of BalkanBase.io after changes are published means that you accept the updated Terms.
